Armored Core 4 to kolejna część flagowego cyklu japońskiej firmy From Software. Jak zwykle mamy tu do czynienia z taktyczną grą akcji, w której występują ogromne roboty, uczestniczące w futurystycznym konflikcie zbrojnym. Niniejszą pozycję przygotowano specjalnie na dziesiątą rocznicę powstania serii, a uczyniono to wyłącznie z myślą o konsoli PlayStation 3 i Xbox 360.
Armored Core 4 to kolejna część flagowego cyklu japońskiej firmy From Software. Jak zwykle mamy tu do czynienia z taktyczną grą akcji, w której występują ogromne roboty, uczestniczące w futurystycznym konflikcie zbrojnym. Niniejszą pozycję przygotowano specjalnie na dziesiątą rocznicę powstania serii, a uczyniono to wyłącznie z myślą o konsoli PlayStation 3 i Xbox 360. W związku z tym trójwymiarowa oprawa wizualna prezentuje bardzo wysoki poziom – szczególnie na wyświetlaczach, pracujących w trybie HD. Ponadto nie ma problemu z organizowaniem zabawy multiplayerowej za pośrednictwem Internetu w maksymalnie ośmioosobowym gronie.
Trzonem AC4 jest jednak kampania dla pojedynczego gracza, składająca się z trzydziestu rozbudowanych misji bojowych. Trafiamy do świata, kontrolowanego przez sześć ogromnych korporacji, które po zburzeniu dawnego porządku utworzyły nowy ład, nazwany Pax Economica (Pokój Ekonomiczny na wzór rzymskiego Pax Romana). Istnieje jednak silne ognisko buntu wobec takiego stanu rzeczy – ugrupowanie rebeliantów, zwących się Krukami. Przejmujemy więc kontrolę nad bohaterem, żyjącym w tej niespokojnej rzeczywistości i specjalizującym się w pilotowaniu militarnych robotów typu Armored Core. Każda taka maszyna składa się z kilkudziesięciu elementów głównych (moduł napędowy, system uzbrojenia etc.), które możemy konfigurować według widzimisię i w oparciu o dostępne w danym momencie środki. Jeśli chodzi natomiast o walki, to toczymy je w szeregu zróżnicowanych środowisk – począwszy od silnie zurbanizowanych terenów miejskich, a skończywszy na przestrzeniach całkowicie wolnych od cywilizacji.
